It is a shame that I can't give this book more than a 3 out of 5, but while the premise was there, the characters were all over the place. It wasn't even that I didn't like Remy, I did, but it just seemed all so far-fetched. That could have worked, but the rest of the story wanted to drag you in the direction of this world not being too far removed from our current one. This contradiction is what irked me.
Also, I know it has been mentioned before, but a lion!! Really?!
There were quiet a few typos, missing words, added words, incorrect words used throughout this book, which I was shocked by. I have read some of Amanda's other work and it was to a much higher standard. That was a big let down.
The final straw was where we left off in this story. It was all a bit too cliche, too perfect (in a twisted way) to be believable.
I liked it, but didn't love it. I will give book 2 a try, but it won't be for quite a while.
